The school is administered by the Board of Trustees. It is their job to make the strategic decisions necessary for the school to achieve the goals set out in the school charter. They are responsible for putting in place and monitoring policies to make sure that those goals are achieved.
The Board of Trustees includes five trustees, who are elected by parents every three years, as well as the Principal and a staff representative. Meetings are held monthly and all parents and caregivers are welcome to attend. It is a good way to find out more about the school. Minutes and reports of these meetings are available at the office.

Tēnā tātou katoa, ka tika me mihi ki ō tātou pouako. Ka nui rā ā koutou mahi, tō koutou aroha ki ā tātou tamariki. He mihi mutunga kore. I have three tamariki at RSS, Nīkau, Tui are both in Poutokomanawa, loving every meneti of it, and Manaia in Flying Niners currently being transformed into a 6 year old meteorologist. I look forward to continue my work with the Board, David and the senior leadership team – it does feel like I have been in training for four years. We have a great bunch of people who strive for the best for our children. My portfolio is Māori so have a kōrero with me at school during pick-up, drop-offs, catch up at Iti Rearea, the whānau meeting, or email me with any of your ideas to the link below. Mauri ora ki a tātou!

Hi Everyone, I am glad to be part of the BoT at RSS as Co-Board Chairperson. We have a dynamic group of people on the Board and we are committed to improving the achievement of all our students at RSS. Our two daughters love being part of the RSS Whanau which focuses on quality learning, creativity and the fostering of excellence and lifelong learning. I am passionate about creating a safe supportive environment which offers the opportunity to explore, extend, challenge and celebrate learning.
I also believe that teachers should also be offered every opportunity to be learners and extend themselves, which in turn, benefits the children. I currently hold the eLearning portfolio and enjoy talking about education, teaching and learning and how our community can be involved.

Kia ora, my name is Elly and it is my privilege to be the Staff Representative on the Board of Trustees. I joined the BoT mid 2015 and I love working alongside such a collaborative & inspirational group at a governance level. One of the highlights of our monthly BoT meetings is when we are joined by a group of students sharing an aspect of their learning, or proposing an exciting project like the Scooter Park or Rugby Posts. Seeing these projects come to fruition is a small part of what our job is all about!
